Reporting to the Lead Bid Writer (in the Proposal Centre), the Bid Writer is responsible for providing bid writing expertise and support for the MAXIMUS UK Family, in the main for MAXIMUS Health & Well Being but also working on wider proposal opportunities. The Bid Writer will have specific expertise in writing health & well being bids.
Working with Sales Leads and Proposal Centre Manager to qualify opportunities, and undertake detailed analysis of all tender document requirements and effectively ensure bid compliance.
Actively participate in solution design sessions and story boarding and request information from subject matter experts to interpret into compelling evidence based bids and proposals. Collaborating with Bid Team to define Win Themes and USPs.
Write exceptional, high quality bid narrative that exceeds scoring criteria, and fully promotes the merits of MAXIMUS as the winning partner to commissioners.
Work to strict deadlines within bid plans and deadlines and ensure that review documents are circulated in a timely manner. Collate and effectively incorporate review feedback to further improve bid responses throughout the process.
Where required, support the uploading of bids; ensuring all required documents are uploaded in line with the specification and commissioner requirements.
Undertake wider Proposal Centre projects; e.g. working with the Sales Lead and Bid Manager to collate commissioner feedback from bids and proposals; ensuring this learning is fed into future bids. Integral team contribution, throughout duration of bid process.
Provide technical and commercial writing skills, displaying creative flair in tender submissions.
Proofreading of work and materials created by other team members, providing constructive feedback that ensures the highest standard of bid submission
Accurate completion of all bid documentation.
• Demonstrable experience of health & well being bids
• Working in a busy bid writing environment, under pressure with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder needs and demands on time
• Excellent communication
• Using a wide range of tender portals to upload tender submissions against deadlines
• Spelling and grammar must be of a very high standard
• Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Working to both internal and external deadlines
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail required with ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Editing, proof-reading and report formatting skills
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
